Quote basant Replybullet Topic: The Equity Desk - Report Card June 2007
    Posted: 01/Jul/2007 at 7:54pm

Hello,

The June 2007 quarter was another one of those blockbuster sessions that TED (TheEquityDesk) is known for. Some of the ideas which we had identified very early like Educomp really took off. The Equity Desk XI did far better and for the six month period and  beat all Indian Mutual funds. The EquityDesk XI also witnessed some changes with the following replacements:

2) Titan replaces Educomp inTheEquityDesk XI

3) Network18replacesTrent inTheEquityDesk XI

June 2007 also marked the completion of one year and the performance of the stocks on this forum has been extraordinary. The trick has been to identify opportunities in areas which do not need too much estimation and which are less dependent on external factors and more a product of how the businesses are managed. So while we missed and were wrong on not having discussed TISCO at Rs 450 we more then made up the opportunity  lost by initiating discussion on a number of stocks that have been multibaggers in the short span of 12 months. The table below lists the stocks in the realm of serious discussion at TheEquityDesk.

Good Job!!

I am lucky to be invested in the top performing TED stocks and all the credit goes to TED.

Just one thing, I would like to see Northgate also in the list.

basantjee,

Any specific reason why you are not comfortable with Infoedge? Is it the valuations or anything else?

Never said I am not comfortable but Infoedge is a one site property and while this is a dominant website the rsks are far too high if say tomorrow naukri.com loses its number 1 status. There is no way to know who is number 1 but certainly Infoedge is a great franchise just that sinle property sites makes one uncomfortable at Rs 2200 crores. Not to suggest that it should not be bought but that one cannot have it in good quantity. Smartcat can pitch in here since he is the master of the net!
