Thank you so much. I lost count of it really till I saw this one.  But as we have become cricketers in our own little ways i would say that I have just opened my acount with a single to square leg.

Initially when I started this forum I saw huge resentment to my ideas - they were high PE's and had newer management but now I see the members becoming interested in those stocks.

At this point I wish to reiterate that these are fairly risky bets and please understand that one of these companies could fail any time. That is why it makes sense to have a basket of 4-5 companies in different ratios.

I am known as "TPT" within my investing circle group. A few months back I had never analysed more then 10 companeis but now as I count this list has crossed 70. People who knew me from before and have been on this site have wanted to know what is wrong with me and I told them that I have enjoyed broadening my horizon.

Thank you guys for this. I hope that we are able to make thequitydeska very big brand which could make all of us very successful in our investing career. And for this I would need your support. Let us not try to compete against each other but to complement the effort of one another and that like Om Sivaya said "we are part of the same family" is very much possible.

Yes, we all belong to Equitydesk family and there is need for asking any kind of support because in a family we all understand each other but can have difference of opnion.

Sir, I want to know those 70 companies name that you follow now.

Congratulations Basant for crossing 1000 posts.

I am a new member and was going through each of your article and replies. What I find is, its not the quantity that is important. Its easy to acheive that. But the quality of the articles, replies, analytical contents  and the unbiased advice of yours  weighs far more than the number of posts. I am sure, each forum member must have been benefitted by this.

Keep up the good work.

I am sure with people like you, this site will go to greater heights

Kulman... One thing that we all must strive to do is to bring Mungerilals and then convert them into better investors/traders. I think that would be the biggest victory of this great forum. (we hopefully gain experience from them, which is invaluable)

 Thanx Kulmanji,

By petty matters I mean making fun of others ideas, criticising others, going to unnecessary arguments to prove one's point etc etc. Mungerilals are a part of the market and will always be there. I feel every successful investor at one point or the other must be a Mungerilal.

I also feel, for a pretty long time I was also acting like a Mungerilal.

To be truthful, now sometimes I ask myself, whether I am not behaving like a Mungeri.

I feel one of the main aim of this site is also to converts Mungeris to successful investor.

Thank you so much. I think the quantum of wishes that I have received becomes difficult to acknowledge on the web.Thank you again to each one of you and about this website I just wanted to create an online platform for discussing long term investing ideas and finally it seems to have been happening very well. I am also as excited as you all are to see this site work so well. WHat gives me the greatest satisfaction is to read about anyone who has made money buying stocks discussed on this site. SO whether any member has bought a TV18 or an IndiaBulls or AB Nuvo they all add up to that sense of satisfaction irrespective of whether I have bought it or not in my personal account.

Thank you so much. I think we need to really understand that the next 3-4 years will change the way we look at the idiot box If that happens and I am betting on that  anything is possible in these media companies.

Meanwhile scares like the one we saw a couple of days back will make experts  create "God Sent" opportunities for investors who can think normally.

Thank you. All of us need to be congratulated for this because it is the members posts that make the content so interesting - perspectives differ
but the strength of the argument stays irrespective of that.

We do discuss bulls and anchors but that does not take away the real focus which is to discuss ideas, thoughts and businesses.

basantji,

congratulations....i am not so much bothered about the 5000 posts but about the content in all these 5000 posts. Though I am a member of this forum for not more than may be 6 months, I am sure each of these 5000 posts is a value addition to the limited knowledge base of novice TED'ies like me.
I must confess that due to lack of time, i do not read each and every post on the forum though i might be interested in it, but I make it a point to read each and every post from you -- because for me its something like "STRAIGHT FROM THE MASTERS MOUTH" and therein lies an opportunity to learn and grow -- a very high RoTE ...... (Return on time employed!)

Congratulations !!!

Thanks a lot RoTE is a very useful matrix that you have derived.

As a few others have already mentioned, its not about the number, but the VALUABLE information in each of those posts which have really helped
all of us.

My first stage of learning was from RD on his chats - learnt about how important mcap was in valuing a company, and how patience and conviction is really important. I would consider whatever i have learnt from Basant(and other TEDies) as phase 2 - how PE and EPS really dont matter
that much, its all about the story going forward, etc. Thanks Basantji, and do continue this wonderful service.
