This is totally unrelated to personal finance or markets but I hope Basant will allow me and knowing Basant I’m sure he will.

I’m so shocked by the gangrape in Delhi and the ultimate and sad fate of the victim. I feel so ashamed and angry. Everything that happened is just so humbling. We’re a great country but we are not. We’re a shining star on the global scene but we are not.

Let’s spare a moment for the girl who died. I hope her soul finds peace in a much better place. Thank God her identity is unknown or God knows where this might have gone – Hindu/Muslim, North-East/Kashmiri, oh she went to that college which is known for this, and so on. Fact is that she was just an unknown girl – but an unknown girl that we all know very well. That unknown girl is our own mother, sister, wife, or daughter. That unknown girl has truly shaken beliefs – even in humanity.

I hope we can all try to make sure this doesn’t happen around us and make sure it never happens ever again at least with our knowledge that we could have done something to change it and we did not. I know I will. I hope you will too.

Regards,

Ram.

We have to wake up, We have to stop Hypocrisy attitude. We need to be more sensitive, more authentic and Complete in character and integrity. Different principles at different roles will not comply. Time to see the mirror and show to mirror to RULER. Show the mirror to KING that they are naked and We will shout about that, will not be silent more!

We all are shocked and feel guilty for what has happened to the breaveheart. May God bless her sole. Hope her sacrifice becomes a  turnaround of sort. While the government makes stringent laws to deal with such crime, we all as a community take a pledge to spread awareness and resist any act of crime against women.

I am surprised how people could be selectively biased. We have so many incidents like this and you would be sad to know some of them are more brutal than this one but nobody takes up their cause. In Delhi itself there is one conviction against 600+ incidents.
I am very happy as an investor that it is being given due attention now. This would allow more women participation in the workforce and hopefully help economy positively. Recently Hilary Clinton was in Japan and she said that if Japanese could be less biased against women participating in workforce GDP could jump by 3% or something.

I was really shocked. The more shocking is the behavior of our lawmakers on this incident. The unfortunate fact of life is that India will not change. Most of the third world countries live like this.

And for Christ-sake,
we are not a great nation neither we are a shining star. It is well crafted image by media and its masters (politicians). It is just that a rising tide lifts all boats. Now that rising tide is no more, we are gonna be back to the Hindu rate of growth.

It is not that people are biased, it is just that this incident was the tipping point - the last straw which broke the camel's back. People are definitely frustrated and the media also took up the cause and yes the media does use such incidents for their advantage.

The immediate cause of the reaction is this particular incident, but the anger has been brewing within for a long time. Did a section of the media co-opt it for their own benefit? Probably yes - but then that happens.

I am glad about the outrage shown by the people of this nation and I hope the lawmakes come put of their callousness.

As for India being a great nation, it is as great as any because the constitution of human beings are the same in any part of the globe. It is only by embracing the right ideas that social change happens. I hope instead of worshipping women as goddesses we just respect them as human beings. Generally what I have observed is that humans elevate those beings to diety level those whom they want to exploit the maximum.

May God take her into his/her arms and keep her happy & content forever. May God also protect and keep happy her family and loved ones and also each & every female in the world. What else can I say...words are not enough to describe what has happened and what still keeps happening.

Anyway, God Bless all the good people.
