As suggested by Basantji, I am starting this thread as I feel that this is the best measure of our achievements in becoming a more knowledgeable and sucessful investor and we should all share our joys and achievements so that others may participate in it. Basantji, I would request you to make the first post, since you are the one we all have learnt from the most. Big Deal or NOT is a relative thing, (irrespective of currency, and being Indian I presume we always talk of INR)

I believe we are looking for the kinda strategies people followed to be a millinare.. once you made the 1st million its easy for it to get multiplied..
We would like to hear how people(TED) made money from market.. If we go with value investing it really takes ages to make 1 million for those who dont have enough money to start with.. Successfull people would have done so many things to make there money grow initially .. thats what we want to know here..
I strongly belive everyone in the initial phase are just TRADERS.. once they accumulate money then only they will start valuing value investing.. because we need money to invest and then wait
 .. This is my opinion.. |

I have not made millions from stocks alone but surely got satisfying amount by following Buffet. Buffet's tenets gives me good sleep and makes me less impulsive and helps me to isolate investing from horse racing. I learned this lesson late and by loosing only that theres no loss if you buy a 10$ stuff at lesser cost of it because 10$ will remain 10$ whether in the aire or in the ground or anywhere , ofcourse it requires painful wait and conviction. |

till 1995 i was a business man of cloth.i shut my shop and came to ahmedabad.
all my group were busy in IPO i also.gujrat/baroda /ahmedabad/cheater cheat all
i lost all my money
and in
1995
i came in surat
start saree business i earn 5 lacs.rs.in saree
i buy 2000 shares ABAN LLOYAD AT 35
and sold in 2007 at 12000.
i earn from my mind all were busy in buy silverline himachal ssi penta i short all in f/o and earn too much money.

when i loose my money not only mine but i was a burden of 6 lacs which i start a business in partenership with my freind after learn business for 6 months.as i was businessman before i learn fast.
and then earn.
2- when ketan parkekh was busy in silverline pentafour ssi gtl i all sold in future and make huge money.then i buy eid parry at 56 ipca lab at 90 asian paint at 212
because all these were selling holding in market like teledata/maars software are doing right now.
so i short all these items and make money.

jsu aban was giving divident at 20% per annuam and was book value 200.
when he buy hitech drilling from tata i think oil exploration business is very good so i hold i hold for 12 years.
one my marathi freind whom i reccomand he buy 200 shares but he sold in 2 years.
