These arrests & release of the likes of Sunjay Dutt, Shibu Soren, Monica Bedi, Salman Khan etc and undue glorification given by media one is compelled to wonder: While without doubt India is poised, but where is Bharat heading?

It is highly pathetic to note that people from high echelons enjoy special treatment .u can take bullets while boarding a flight but can go scotfree.u can possess a AK 47 illegally still  enjoy support from political class & other sections,u can hunt animals illegally but there are people worried about their losses as a result of the hunter being jailed so we see people placing their interest above that of the nation.criminals and scounderals occupying high places and leading our people who are kept illiterate etc etcCry

Absolutely. Our media is also highly irresponsible.

It is a shame that insted of showing the family members of the deceased in the Bombay blasts the media shows a bunch of people who cannot differentiate between reel life and real life! Our judiciary is doing  agreat job by putting its neck out and at this point in time the media should not dilute the situation by trying to show a completely different and biased view of the whole thing.

I concur with all the above views.

I am quite happy to see mighty & wealthy criminals behind the bars.

I am firmly behind BasantJi’s view and think that all these criminals should be hanged till partial death and then left free to survive the remaining suffering.

Imagine the pain of the mother/widow of a Bombay blast victim or even the deer who was killed.

The less said about the media (all news and business), the better it is. I feel that there is only one man in Indian media, and that is "Barkha Dutt" of NDTV.

How about Mrs Rajdeep Sardesai (Sagarika Ghosh)?

I've always felt that the monopolies jointly held by our media and bollywood elites should be challenged through market liberalization. We should allow in more foreign media outlets and more foreign filmmakers, to provide more competition to our domestic left-wing media/film moghuls.

Some increased business competition will put these scheming jaichands on the ropes, and reduce the attention they can give to churning out their left-wing biased movies and media coverage.

I'm a big admirer of Rupert Murdoch's FOX media ventures. He has really lit a fire under left-wing news outlets like CNN, through his FOX News. At least people have a choice and diversity in the news coverage they see, instead of having one viewpoint shoved down their throats.

For the market to function effectively, it must offer choice.

Another worrisome factor is that majority of today's youth gets affected by what media shows them.

They get the wrong impression that there's nothing wrong in the misbehaviour of these new age idols (the likes of Salman, Sanju baba and worst of all, Rahul Mahajan!)

There's not much social stigma.
