These lottery scams aim to get a person to disclose personal information which is used to steal a person identity. These fraudsters then proceed to get loans and credit cards with the stolen identity and the original person gets stuck with the debts.

Another scarier scam is an e-mail supposedly from banks claiming that there has been data loss and wants you to sign in to your account and reconfirm password and other info. the website looks similar to the banks site but if one looks at the web address on the top its not the banks site.
Ignorant people sign in using their sign in id and password, which is captured by these thieves who then proceed to clean out the bank accounts.
A lot of people here in the states have been fooled and lost a lot of money.

Banks never send e-mails asking for personal info by email.

Almost everyone keeps getting these emails: Nigeria-scam, Lottery scams, out of the blue winning notifications of prizes/lotteries etc. Simply delete it. Some even come to physical home addresses. Never ever provide any information back to anyone: Credit card details, phone numbers, names etc. Provide NOTHING back to them!
The most important quality for an investor is temperament, not intellect.A temperament that neither derives great pleasure from being with the crowd nor against it
