Basantji I think going forward also the same stores sales will be single digit once the store becomes popular in a neighbourhood...during the launch of a new store we are bound to see new customers, customers from other stores walking in to buy stuff..most of these get converted to regular customers the incremental addition after a few months is those who are new to that locality or those shifting from say a spencers or a More , food world etc etc.Essentially the market size of that locality wouldnt see a drastic change. What do you think ?

Also there is cannibalization. Increased density of stores restrict same store sales as people who used to travel 4 kms now have a store nearer to their homes.

Double-digit same store growth is quite good. Biyani has been going slow on real-estate bookings since last year so that may be the reason for just 42% YoY Sales growth. He mentioned in his interview to UTVi that they have become realistic in this challenging environment and are targetting 80-90% growth in FY09.
