From next week, GoI plans to release inflation details at 5pm on Thursdays instead of noon on Fridays. There was a piece about this in todays ET.

I was getting confused in the evening when the channels are flashing the new inflation numbers. I thought whether it was revised figures for the earlier week until I read ET in the evening.

The reasons given were figures are getting leaked and some brokers are taking due advantage of the figures since it is released during the trading hours.

I don't understand how by releasing it on thursday, they are able to avoid these things.
