very true .. but the problem is how quickly we spot a bad investment against routine problem faced by any industry/company temporarily.. sometimes not making money for long period of time will also ruin compounding

"If we define anxiety as experiencing failure in advance, we can also understand its antonym, anticipation.

When you work with anticipation, you will highlight the highs. You'll double down on the things that will delight and push yourself even harder to be bold and to create your version of art. If this is going to work, might as well build something that's going to be truly worth building.

If you work with anxiety, on the other hand, you'll be covering the possible lost bets, you'll be insuring against disaster and most of all, building deniability into everything you do. When you work under the c**** of anxiety, the best strategy is to play it safe, because if (when!) it fails, you'll be blameless.

Not only is it more fun to work with anticipation, it's often a self-fulfilling point of view."

-Seth Godin

A marketing quote but so apt for investing too.
Take your chances and keep them in a box until a quieter time.

"One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose, and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't     throw it away." - Stephen Hawkins. This is not a investing quote but important one for investors like us.
