went to azad maidan in Mumbai yesterday and spent about an hour there. Very nice mood.

There was a whole range of people.

They have created different sections. Apart from a baithak type of section. Quite a few college students were around snapping photos while shouting slogans, wearing gandhi topi and waving flags.

And continuous singing of patriotic songs.

Very heavy police bandobast.

In the evening the whole section was split into units. Some small of about 5 and some large. These teams went around the whole business district around 5 to 7, the time when office goers are leaving.

That was quite a sight. People becoming aware of this corruption thing. Soemthing like builidng pressure on the government, by creating public opinion against the government.

One person most happy about Anna Hazare would be Lalit Modi.

IPL 4 has been eclipsed by Anna.

Lets see how this plays out.

I have a different view. This will not make any difference. Come on folks, we have seen this many times before. The most dangerous statement in investing world is "This time it is different". This could be very well applicable to politics too.

IPL is starting and people will forget this in a few days. Moreover, you cannot expect the Government of India (the don) to really bring a law against its minions who get the required money for the don.
Success... at all cost.

DONE!
Similar concerns were there when baapu started the movement. May be it would not have macro impact but it will have many-many micro implications.
we all just imagine .. One man with principle can bring the govt. On its knees. We don't need to kill each other to see the CHANGE.. This is the most efficient way of making a change. I feel lucky to be born in a society and country where where values take utmost importance.
I think we can contribute to this in our own way. Take a pledge to help root out corrupt businesses by not being investor in them. Let us educate as many people as possible on corrupt practices in corp. Sector. I believe these corrupt businesses make politicians corrupt and in turn whole society.

Now govt has agreed to comitee to draft the bill. If Lokpal bill gets passed without much dilution, it will be very potent tool against corruption at very top. People like A Raja and senior officials will not get a leeway of 2-3 years hiding under cover of "government permission" for prosecution.
