Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled his top 10 policy priorities, seeking to unblock an investment logjam and setting deadlines for action in order to revive the economy. The policy announcements came soon after Modi chaired the cabinet meeting at 11 am, with a briefing to follow afterwards. The 10-point agenda is as follows:1) Focus on economy and infrastructure ministries
2) Better inter-ministerial coordination
3) Restore confidence of bureaucrats
4) Use technology and social media to maximise public interaction
5) Focus on education, health, water and roads
6) Gear up government machinery to project new leadership mandate
7) Must have stable sustainable government
8) There shall be transparancy in government
9) E-auction will be promoted in tendering and other government work
10) People-oriented system will be in place

The leader pointed out that the agenda could well be prepared by the officials in the minister's department. "You don't know Modi," the minister shot back. "He calls me on the office landline to ensure that I am working in the office."
Another minister, belonging to an alliance partner of the BJP, got a stern message when he made it known that he was not happy with his portfolio, "Get working, or there are others in line."

Most of the decisions taken by the govt so far seem to be mere tinkering with UPA's policies. Nothing major has happened on the ground which can change investment decisions in the next year or so. Even though sentiments are very positive how long will investors have to wait till true long-term policy changes happen ?
