I like your protfolio.
Why did you choose the IDFC. I would think IDFC small cap to DSP small cap comparision was good.

Thanks a lot barla ji
My criteria for choosing IDFC Small Cap over DSP was the portfolio allocation/diversification :
1. DSP had/still has at that time Rallis, TTK Prestige, etc as part of it portfolio which I already own via individual shares.
2. IDFC Small Cap has been consistently performing and was giving good absolute returns in the Small MF pack.
3. Last reason - the fund manager, (low criteria when selecting the fund), Kennett Andre is the fund manager.

Thanks for your thoughts manish ji. I went with the long term returns in this case. Never looked into Birla MF.

Anyone tracking Canara Robeco FORCE fund and/or Kotak Lifestyle Fund? If not too, please share your thoughts looking at the portfolio.

I have very less knowledge about Pharma companies. I am trying to learn from hitjee and excelji whenever they post info on Pharma companies. Personally, I believe Pharma companies will do better over long term and went with the leader here. A sectoral allocation play for me. Hope it pays off.
I was also inclined towards Infrastructure Funds (Considering all the funds were 30-50%) down from their highs. Looking at the portfolios however amazed me as most of them had Banking, Auto, etc. (Look at Canara Robeco Infrastructure portfolio, for example)
http://www.moneycontrol.com/india/mutualfunds/mfinfo/portfolio_overview/MCA040. Anyone went for a contrarian view and went for IDFC Infrastructure MF?

Hello all,
I am currently invested in the following 2 funds 50% each. Can you suggest me 2 more funds? One multi cap and one small and mid caps. And is that a good idea to invest in sector funds? If so i am interested to invest in infra funds. Please advise me.
ICICI Focused Bluechip Equity fund
ICICI Prudential dynamic plan

Hi Srihsd1,
You can use the following link as a starting point to select MF's. Use a 3 or 5 year performance as the benchmark while selecting MF's. Also remember, past performance does not guarantee returns.

5 years performance is a good benchmark. i give more weightage to 3 year performance. because this was the real test and not many fared well. and HDFC mf (most of their funds) is a winner here
