Thanks you so much for all those kind words. We are all learning and as someone said we can only be students of this business never a master. But if that learning happens amidst all the fun nothing like it and it is the way in which we share thoughts and  experiences which makes TED so difficult to stay away from.

As Kulmaji mentioned thebest way to make money is not to lose it and if that hole within us can be blocked then a major part of the problem has been addressed.

Devesh, I forgot PVR and now I have included it funny I did not forget Tv18 or IndiabullsWink

I would once again congratulate the TED on such fantastic numbers which it churns out quarter after quarter. BasantJi...Congratulations.

About the member quality of the TED, I can only say it is excellent as they represent the various industry's and there can be no better explanation than the one which the user gives out.

We all have learnt a great deal from Warren Buffet, which has been such a success due to the tireless effort of Mr Kulman. The most important part of learning for me was the right attitude and the rational approach which he teaches. As they say "In the market Discipline is everything".

----------------
The coming quarter will test the character of the investor more then his skills and it is the former which is in short supply within us.

Excellent!!! As ED says....

Losing a position is aggravating, whereas losing your nerve (Character) is devastating.

Three cheers to the Team TED!!!

Basant Ji

First of all, congratulations for the excellent results. I request to you insert an additional column for quarter over quarter performance in addition to comparing it with the recommended price.

That shall highlight how the scrips performed in the last quarter and it is relevant even if we have 10 years vision. As relevant as we have the concept of reporting quarterly report card.

Thanks Mohan ji, appreciate it. I haven't been active for the last few days on TED, since I want to be in the "reading mode" currently and am thus absorbing all the great posts by every TEDDY. Keep it going everyone. Cheers! Tongue

Basantji,
As the markets are falling in the hindsight of the interest hikes....Lets say we don't want to catch the falling knife.. But while the dust settles for a while... which of the TED picks are most attractive with this fall ?

We know you are 100 % invested. But say you have some 5% additional cash come in for investing
- which one would you want to buy - TV18, Net18, Pantaloon Retail
- At what range would they become attractive to you to buy  ?

Often we forget there's a company behind every stock, and there's only one reason why stocks go up. Companies go from doing poorly to doing well or small companies grow to large companies.

Between the three Network18 valuation baffles me. Here we get a company at 50% market cap to TV 18 with 50% earnings of TV 18 and all other businesses FREE.

The more I look at it the more I get convinced but we could always be missing something and that something is something which I am unable to find out.

I mentioned in some other thread about my discussion with the CEO of HDFC MF about valuation of holding companies and he said that if you can consolidate accounts then there would be no disparity in PE maybe it is an opportunity which is giving more time to us and because it is giving so much of time we are unable to grasp it.

I wish I knew...
