Basant Sir,
Can you include one more subject in your next quarter syllabus called "Sun Pharma"
I believe this one should get good marks in next quarter report card.
Also, because you do not like cyclicals, can we have an optional elective subject called "Tata Steel" ?
Kindly let us know...
Thanx

Thanks Bubble Vision. I wiush it were Rs 168!!!. SUn pharma I missed including it SHall be doing it. The ideas is to have stocks on which we have detailed writeup available and which are good from the long term point of view. If we get a detailed write up on Tata Steel we would include it.

A suggestion, basantji... Just as u have a report card on past performance, can we have a recommended stock portfolio for a one year horizon say from this Muharat trading day to the next on this website? If this already exists, please let me know. Also, the multibagger porfolio which was on thsi site, have u worked out on any shrortlist?

Yes we have a list of stocks I am bullish on not for one year but over the next 2-3 years. You may access them at The Equity Desk XI vs. The Indian Cricket XI Now recommending stocks from Diwali to Diwali is very difficult and also futile at times. This is so because we are letting a day become relevant in buying a stock not the price/valuation.
This list indicated above coupled with the total nyumber of stocks (around 40) covered under the Investment ideas section should be a good place to choose some of your bets.
And yes, while this is really past performance we are just 2 months old so these recommendations are not that old - just that some of them have run up a bit too hard to make them a great buy at these levels.

Hi Basantji,
One suggestion...
There might be lots of stocks that the members on the board will discuss or will be discussing however not all of them can be a value/genuine buy. Can we have a separate topic or forum within the board where we will filter out stocks from the discussions and make a concrete list of the stocks that have a significant upside based on ur analysis or based on the views of the senior members.
e.g In a week we discuss say 10 ideas however only 2 ideas are worth exploring further , then we can move these 2 ideas to a separate forum and concentrate on the deveopments on thses stocks? Basically what I mean is to filter out the best ones...
Any views ?
Thanks

Yes, That is a very tough call but generally we have a stock synopsis section where stocks are included either
a) as there is no detailed research
b) they have run up a bit
Now the recommendation prices in the Investment section are prices where I think (highly subjective) that prices are in line with valuations but in case these prices run up they move ahead of valuations and are no longer buys.
Over a period of 2-3 year investment it would not make much of a difference if with a 20% -30% jump but yes, you are right it does make sense to get in at low valuations then vice versa.
We can discuss the stock where members are interested either in the relevant company topic or in the OUr Stocks section but otherwise we could follow the rule of thumb method as to how much of a change the pesent stock price is from the recommended price.

Basantjee,
A) Your list (Report Card) includes Inox but does not include PVR. Are you more bullish on Inox over PVR ? I remember that in one of your posts at current market cap you prefered PVR over Inox .
B) Also can you post a write up on Opto Circuits as I think it could be a multibagger (specially stents business looks very interesting).
C) Any views on following stocks with regard to scale of opportunity and possible multibaggers in the future :
Astra Microwave products
Ahmednagar Forgings
Opto circuits
Allsec Technology
Cranes Software
Subex Azure
KPIT Cummins
Deccan Chronicle
Gateway Ditriparks
Indo Tech Transformers
B L Kashyap
Sanghvi Movers
There is a very nice writeup in latest Outlook Business, the article is (Future Titans) "Empires on the Rise". Your views on it.
Some stocks like Trent, TV 18, Educomp, Geodesic, ENIL appearing in the above mentioned article are already covered in this forum. The other stocks mentioned in the article are listed above in point C).
Rgds
