If it has to be based on my own personal experience, it would be this: Do not sell too early.
 
I think, relatively speaking & for market in general, it is easier to know when to buy than to know when to sell.

Just think of the downside before the upside. Many a times investors focus only on the returns ignoring the negative attributes of a stock. They make adjustments for Management, financials, Business etc and focus on momentum.

My greatest learning from the market has been to ignore daily market movements.

My investments have done better since I have stopped watching CNBC and logging into moneycontrol throughout the day. Now, I login to TED instead Wink

Me too. When ever I see a stock synopsis on TED by Hit or Vivek or Dhirajkant.. within couple of days the stock starts zooming..

Why need CNBC?

Actually a forum like TED is a boon for people like us who like to follow companies and are eager to learn about the investment process. Every other forum people just talk about stock prices!
