we can also have returns of the TED XI stocks since particular stock was included in TED XI.. that way we can assess it the decision to include in TED XI was beneficial or not ... also time frame considered for each stock will be independent of each other .. e.g. X has given 50% return after including in TED XI before 6 months.

Thanks,
Nilesh

Moser Baer has decided to hive off its Entertainment division. The stock is down 5%. Also the stock has become a kind of non-performer.Do you think we should still keep it as part of TED.Do you expect any trigger that could bring back the stock to its levels again

Its Solar Cell business will not find buying in long run.....solar heater is used just for tube light or heating water, it can't be used for running motors etc...and world wide it is not yet proved that Solar cell business will capture good market share.
Thanks & Regards,
Harry

Though TEDXI has been inline with sensex from Jan2007 till now, from 01April2008, until now, the performance is as follows:

S NO COMPANY %
  SENSEX -12.7
1 DISH TV -43.7
2 ENIL -18.9
3 TITAN -4.1
4 VOLTAS -27.3
5 PANT RETAIL -19.7
6 YES BANK -26.8
7 BLUE STAR -13.4
8 HDFC BANK -20.9
9 IDFC -24.7
10 AXIS BANK  -4.9
11 HDFC -12.4
  avg -19.7
Sensex over same period is : -12.7 %

However, this is a short term comparison and not reliable for long term.

Few suggestions for TED XI changes:
1. Dish TV: Should be out. Not because it has performed badly but too dependent on govt policies.
2.Bluestar and Voltas: We have two companies in cooling and engineering. A slow down in retail, IT, real state and airport expansions may impact them. We can have one of these replaced by thermax which will benefit from power and environment related investments.
3. ENIL: Too niche segment.
4. No FMCG: Home grown companies like Marico deserve a place here.

I am also sticking with TED IX stocks for most of my portfolio.  But not comfortable with Dish. Would like to see some new stocks given the market correction/opportunity.

While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.
