While RJ was confused ...SA was clear saying that the case for moving into equity was based on the 7-8% that debt could offer ..if equity can give more than this we move to equity ...moving to cash was not suggested by anyone atleast in a obvious manner.Bottomline is if we find a price worth it ..we buy it ...liquidity will find its way.

So while we can argue debate and analyse the existence of the bull market the point is that none of the arguments can make me sell stock and be in cash.
The wisdom of being in cash is quite compelling. Seems like near term news will be worse than expectations. It is futile to predict short term market movements. Having said that, one may keep cash as a Plan B to take benefit of any opportunities that the market may present in the short term.

The FM in his speech has just written of farmer's loan and in his speech he inform's total cost will be about 50 thousand crore totall including ots ..... further he says those farmers can take new loans after the waiver is confirmed with the bank ....
How will this effect banks ..... won't banks have big losses then .....

Yes timing a move into cash is dicey as RD frankly realized in May06 . Personally I have moved from money in the bank to equity in the past 6 weeks of fall(concurring with SA) but am now afraid of further commitments. Each of us has to make a personal call but underneath it all RJ and SA are on the same side of the fence and its an ego clash, thats all.

There is nothing to be pessimistic / optimistic in moving to cash .No one can predict the movement of the market .The markets have already corrected more than 30% and many of the good stocks are available at cheaper rates now and the wisest thing is to take a long term view and invest in select good stocks and switch off watching the price everyday .There is a possibility that the market may come down still 20% ,so what is the big deal in that for a long term investor ? All these things matters only for the short term trader .
If you are waiting for the perfect bottoming of the market to buy and the perfect topping to sell , u will just keep waiting your entire life time .
