Basant Jee, nows a days I see that people are going towards diamonds (more show off than value asset) than gold. Ladies are more attracted towards diamond. Unlike Gold, it is difficult to find the purity of diamonds, hence we prefer reputed branded store for such purchase. Gitanjali or Tanisque fits here.
Thanks & Regards,
Harry

Diamonds are like LCD Tv's they drop in value the moment they are purchased unless you want to sell it to the same shop as a money back!!!

Diamonds are a total waste. Beter to buy solid Gold bars or coins or even silver bars for that matter.

that is correct but presnt your wife with a diamond and then see the change.that stone has some magical effect on women!it also has a magical effect on our wallets!
understanding both the power of compound return and the difficulty getting it is the heart and soul of understanding a lot of things

----------------
Sorry!! I differ on the view. ETF is the most expensive way of owning gold. Having physical gold is much better choice. AMC generally charges 1% per year for custodian charges, if one stay invested for 10 years (this is more likely scenario), you lost more that 10% of your gain. Assuming 5 Lakh of investment, fee comes out to be 50000 INR. Remember this amount is minimum, this could reach to 1 lakhs depending upon price appreciation. for physical gold, one pays 500 * 10 for bank locker. Simple.
Don't bet on pig after all bull & bear in circle.

For investment purpose, I still prefer ETF. The purpose of investment is to make money and sell it anytime when the bull market of gold seems to be over. Never thought of owning the gold for 10 years.

ETF is easy and convinient way to own and sell and that's why you pay the price.

Get married and you will own gold for more than 10 yrs.. LOL
Often we forget there's a company behind every stock, and there's only one reason why stocks go up. Companies go from doing poorly to doing well or small companies grow to large companies.
