Network 18, the holding company of TV18 and Global Broadcast News, has announced the launch of a new division, E18.
The new division will operate in the entertainment events space. E18 will be headed by former Hindustan Times executive Farhad K Wadia.
E18 plans to function in the live entertainment space by leveraging various media brands owned and managed by the TV18 Group. E18 will conceptualise and stage large format events such as concerts by international artists, bollywood shows, award nights in India, in addition to conceptualising and executing large format business conferences, conclaves and seminars.
Farhad’s mandate would be to synergise with the existing properties of the group, while running E18 as an independent profit centre. His appointment is entirely in keeping with the group’s philosophy of inducting fully-empowered CEOs to launch and scale up new businesses within the media space,” said managing director of TV18 Raghav Behl.
The new initiative E18 will also come under the joint venture with Viacom. (BS)

That's a very interesting move.
Basant jee, as the new initiative E18 will also come under the joint venture with Viacom, would you prefer to add GBN or NW18?

Devesh: The BS Kolkata edition did not say this comes under GBN! From what I read this seems to be coming under NW18!
This link also suggests that this coems under NW18! There seems no synergy in bringing it in Viacom 18!
The company has amde an interesting appointment in Capital 18. The Managing director sarbir singh is an IIT IIM combine!

According to an official release issued by Network 18 Fincap to the BSE today, this move is derived from the group's JV with Viacom Inc.

Network 18 Fincap Ltd has announced that close on the heels of the announcement of their JY with Viacom Inc., TV18 Group has decided to enter the highly competitive sector of Entertainment & News / Information Events. It has floated a new division, christened E18, under Network18, the Group's listed Holding Company. They have appointed Farhad K Wadia as the Chief Executive Officer for the new operation. I think we should go by what the company has written to the BSE. Also what is interesting is the mention of "close on the heels of...." and maybe the reporter picked it as under Viacom 18!!!
From the BSE announcement it seems to be in NW18.

Anyway whether it is in GBN, it would be captured under NW18 though small stake.
I hope that they do not put Star Editor to host those Bollywood Awards Show though. Otherwise awards ceremony will be full of "who knows?', "may be"; and "sure, it could" etc etc...
