My bank Axis sent this SMS which I can't believe/understand:
From Sep 27, you may miss SMS updates from Axis Bank if you have registered on Do Not all List, SMS STOP DND to 1909.

From what I think, telemarketing is different than alerts from banks, etc.

So why are they trying to get us to unregister from the Do not disturb list?

I think this is misleading. Let us see. I'm will not immediately do what they want me to do.

I think it is possible to activate partial DND. I have received an e-mail from Flipkart to activate partial -DND to receive order confirmation/ shipment/delivery notification by sending an SMS  " "START 5" to 1909 to   receive SMS alerts from all 'Consumer Goods' companies .To de-register send "STOP" to 1909 . I do not know whether this covers alerts from banks.

I got something similar from DNA which has been sending me unsolicited "news" with ads at the end of the message two times a day. I think that is SMS START 6.

Surprised there is no category for banks or Axis is not bothered?

Today, I will try a small on-line transfer to broker just to see what happens :) because I have "netsecure" which sends code by SMS to confirm id (multiple autentication)?

Worked for me! I got both SMSes: Netsecure code and subsequent confirmation of debit.

Maybe the first SMS I mention at top of the page was sent to scare us into stopping DND so they could "market" insurance, card, etc. shamelessly in name of "updates">
