Basant,
That way would it not be wise to convert TV18 to  NW 18  , if one has the capacity to wait it out . Also by when do you think NW18 will show its true value ?

"When" is the question but I am not converting - though logically it does seem reasonable to convert. Still I have a decent exposure in NW18 though Tv18 is skewed higher in my portfolio.

Hi Basant Sir,
Thanks for sending me the report.
For fresh exposure, which one do you think the better one? Still, trying to understand the valuations of NW 18.  What is the complete name for Network 18 (Network 18 Fincap Limited). Name looks slightly misleading. Sorry for asking the basic questions.

Yes, it does but in my case I do not want to be concentrated into one compoany as it is I hold a few so that is also playing on the mind.

Yes it has that name only.

Congratulations Basantjee for excellent performance.
Bur I feel there are lot of TED's invested in underperforming scripts from your list like Adlabs. PVR, WWIL, Suzlon....

I feel alongwith the report card we should also need an updation on these underperforming scripts from your end. it gives a mental boost to investors, as well as frest outlook to the scripts...
happy & wise investing

Yes, I can understand that there have been underperformers and we need to update the stocks but generally these were 1-2 year investments except for WWIL which could be slightly longer in nature but all of these companies should create retrn for investors.

I mentioned in some other thread about my discussion with the CEO of HDFC MF about valuation of holding companies and he said that if you can consolidate accounts then there would be no disparity in PE maybe it is an opportunity which is giving more time to us and because it is giving so much of time we are unable to grasp it.

I wish I knew...

Basantji,
I think  that the 50 % discount in valuation of NW18 will take care of any Margin of safety needed to cover downside risk in valuations.
To Quote Buffet  Buffett found such deals because he went looking for them. "No one will tell you about them," he said. "You only get told about things someone is pushing for some reason."
