Hi Basantji, Can you elaborate your strategy for leveraging on Pantaloon stock? Did you follow any mathematical model as to when to increase leverage and when to decrease?

Not to dwell on this - but even for one year - one needs XIRR (or some such) to say how better you are doing compared to sensex or a MF.
Reason: you start the year with a portfolio, sell some of it on some dates, buy with fresh money or sale proceeds on some other dates. If we did not pick stock of our choosing and bought/sold sensex on those dates, how better/worse you do does not look like a trivial calculation.
Unless you are beating sensex by such a huge margin, that you just feel its obvious ;)

No, I do not use any such measure. The only competitor or me is the sensex and the best performing MF for that year.

I have been wondering about the efficacy of active investing lately.
Do you use some measures of portfolio performance - absolute or versus market? Like XIRR or some other measure.

Was little late in catching up.
Fabulous pearls of wisdom Basant.
One will need to read multiple books and thousands of pages to get these.

Hi Basantji,
As we discuused during the meet, if we can have something like Latest Posts (similar to Active Topics), a page like you get when you conduct a search, that will make reading much easier.
As in case of Active Topics, if one chooses Last 2 hours or so one ends up getting the same topics, as you don't know whether it contains a new post or old you have to go into the topics and then come back and do the same exercise for all the active topics.
Pls look into it.
