In case of divedend payout option there is no question of capital gains tax as the NAV remains same.

So effectively 15% tax if dividend option is taken (MF or individual whoever pays, finally its our own money). I wonder why govt would leave a hole like that :P.

here we consider the net returns between FD and mutual funds and mutual fund gives better returns, so the investor is least concerned whether who is paying the tax.
buy low sell high.

I had not thought of dividend paying would keep NAV same and thus would pay lesser tax. And yes at the end of the day return only matters :). Thanks for the help.

The NAV doesnt remains the same when a Mutual Fund announces a dividend rather the NAV falls down with the corresponding amount which has been declared.

Success in not final and failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.

Instead of buying MFs either SIP or lumpsum, if you follow same (SIP or LUMPSUM) approach and buy&hold leading companies stocks of various sectors, it will generate minimum 1.5 to 2 times of any mutual fund portfolio.
