Basantji,
The other 2 spinoff candidates HTMT & Zee are more of a spinoff play, rather a hold.
Does Adlabs classify for a Spinoff & hold?
With the recent rise of Educomp.. can one consider switching Educomp to Adlabs ?

Basantji,
One humble request... before putting your analysis on the forum pls send all the boarders a private email .
Due to the effect of your analysis and coincidence and the current market trend and the popularity of TED amongst fans , this one has gone up almost by 5 % !!!(and I cdnt add it at lower price though I dont consider it as most imp criteria,would have prefered so !!)

HTMT and Zee suffer from poor management problems. Otherwise they are as good as any other media company to play the media (CAS/DTH) boom. The problem is that after the spin off all the entities become fairly valued and hence the potential for immediate gains become minimized. Adlabs is a good stock to hold for the moment but in case the spin off adds value as we envisage it could become fairly valued again.

It is all co-incodental. Just that we are able toi write it before the stock is to move up rather then the other way around.

Adlabs can be played as an all-round entertainment company, an substitute for Zee.I already bought it at 350 levels.Its FM station in Mumbai has got very poor response,this is the worry.How it emerges out of competition will test its creativity.

While the FM story for Adabs will play up in the long run, it's entry in the 'Filmi duniya" looks more promising to me. The way films are raking in the dough outside india from the current Hindi films is noteworthy....

The best benefit that any company can get from its movie library is the steady generation of income from re-runs. With DTH coming in and video on call will become a very important money generating scheme for many of these movie content producers. Generally people do not want to watch serial re-runs as much as they enjoy movie re-runs maybe because movies finish off in 3 hours!
