Here is mine:

31 years old, currently working in a sw company in Blore.
Would consider myself an amateur investor, started in 2001, got burnt
in the dotcom fall, so it was like a baptism by fire.
Stayed off the markets next 2 years, and since 2004 have been investing
regularly. Have since recovered all my losses and made profits as well, so
its been quite a journey!

Trying very hard(the key word here is "trying )  to become a value
investor, follow Ramesh Damani on his chats everyweek, (in fact how i came
to know of this site is also through that chat only, when one chatter mentioned about this site). Through him i have learnt the virtue of patience and conviction. Currently mainly innvested in Mcdowell and UB holdings as my core portoflio, and GM Breweries and California Software
as my speculative/potential multibaggers.

I read a lot, have read Beating the Street and One up on Wall Street by Lynch, The wisdom of crowds(another great concept, a must read),
currently reading "Warren Buffet - The making of an American Capitalist"
by Roger Lowenstein - another fabulous book.

Basant, just 3 days into this site and i really like it. Have read  a lot
of your past postings, and was really amazed to read your
40-to-1350 pantaloon story. Great stuff! I wish i can do something
like that one day!

Investing Legends:Ramesh Damani (He once told in TV program, when all the panelists were advising small investors to go through Mutual funds that ''One has work hard himself if he wants to earn money"and not that the mutual fund manager will work hard for you.

I really believe that if one has to earn money through stocks one has to work hard, study the company and have faith in one's decision.

Hi

My sincere thanks to all of you who have tried to put this work in some positive light. I hope that this process will try and create an online community of analytical investors who will never buy anything without asking why?

Bharat Ji Great to see you working at TCS. I find that all the techies want to know a great deal of finance and investing compared to their peers from the B'com background. . It is great to see our friends from the engineering fraternity wanting  to analyse. Perhaps the kind of analytical skills you guys develop during your engineering career comes in handy. This is something  which never occured to me until I saw the member list in detail one day.

Hope I am wrong since I am a commerce grad myself.

Regards,

Basant

Each legend adds to your repertoire in some way.I just feel that among stockmarket legends for   ability and judgement my ranking of favourites would be Buffet,Jim Rogers and Ralph Wanger/Peter Lynch.
