Yes, The work for the time being is not making any progress and seems to have stopped . Infact, Many local people who were hired as temporary employess and support staff have already been laid off . The supplies from North Lakhimpur market to the NHPC campus have dwindled. Akhil Gogoi led anti Dam Agitation has been strong enough to hold one of the turbines/part of a turbine, in the midst of the Northlakhimpur Commerce college field , with police guarding it all the time.It has been there for almost a year now and seems to have become a symbol for the agitations victory for the time being .What I can make out is the locals too are afraid of the consequences of the project as nobody seems to know or tell for guarantee what could be the effect downstream of the project. Though the NHPC guys claim that its all rumors that been spreaded around, the truth is the surrounding area is anyways half submerged in water during the rainy season.Floods have become a part of life here. Also, the agitation has become a means for different parties to extort/demand money from the businessman and rich guys , especially North Indian guys, in the name of donation where the amount of donation is decided by them. There had been numerous BUnds called by different parties in the months of april -may this year and numerous rallies held to protest against the movement of the turbines. Though at times it looked as if the govt. was hell bend to resolve the matter, but oppositon led popularistic poltics played spoilsport. I doubt this matter is going to resolve so easily .After all, which party is going to let anyone kill the goose(the agitation), which is laying the golden eggs.

Earlier commissioning was to be in 2013. Now not before 2015. The per unit cost of power will also balloon up.

You can looks at the shareholding pattern which is disclosed every quarter, it should mention all stakeholders with more than 1% stake.
